Wastewise

Ron from Auckland council spoke to us today about being waste wise. We discussed the 3 R's of waste management (reducing, reusing and recycling) we then discovered that it is best to reduce our waste rather than reusing it or recycling it.  One example of reducing our waste is using a drink bottle that you can fill up again and again rather than buying bottles that end up being thrown away.

    1. Great Question Anthony - Drink cans that are made from aluminium can be recycled. Other metals too can be reused usually after being melted and formed into a new shape. However it is always best to reduce waste so instead buying and drinking cans of fizzy drink it would be best to drink water or other drinks from a reusable bottle.
